Job Summary
The Lead Engineer – IT Infrastructure is a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and modern platform engineering practices. The incumbent plays a key role in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure across hybrid cloud environments. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift, and a passion for automation and operational excellence.
The Lead Engineer – Infrastructure reports into the Senior Manager, IT Infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Architects, implements, and manages containerized workloads using Kubernetes and OpenShift across hybrid cloud environments.
- Leads cloud infrastructure initiatives in AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
- Develops and maintains infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
- Implements and manages monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to ensure platform health and performance.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business goals and compliance requirements.
- Defines and enforces operational standards, availability metrics, and performance baselines for infrastructure platforms.
- Conducts root cause analysis and risk mitigation for infrastructure-related incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to strategic infrastructure planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Expertise in ServiceNow, including API integration for automation and workflow enhancements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and manage vendor relationships.
- Prior experience working in a law firms, corporate legal department, insurance company or other setting related to the investigation and assessment of property and casualty claims field.
