The Lead Distribution Coordinator will be primarily responsible in assisting the Distribution Supervisor in overseeing the day–to-day operations of the Distribution Department by exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. They will be required to investigate and resolve any issues and discrepancies in outgoing shipments and receipts of incoming products. In this role they will oversee and facilitate shipper/receiver training and will be expected to have working knowledge of these processes to be able to assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling as needed.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Stay knowledgeable of all jobs in the Distribution department to ensure proper training, continuity of workflow, and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate with the Distribution staff, department leads, managers, and personnel to assess and adjust the variability of people and workflow to accommodate the labor load.
- Function as a liaison between the Distribution Supervisor and Distribution employees.
- Assist department staff in solving problems with workflow, machinery, and personnel, including making recommendations regarding discipline of Distribution staff.
- Keep work instructions up-to-date by continuously observing procedures for changes in processes or technology.
- Ensure the industrial-powered-truck log books are being filled out correctly and on a per-shift basis; equipment/tools are being properly maintained.
- Maintain an organized layout and safe work environment.
- Participate in cross functional communications between logistics, planning, production, purchasing, customer care, and accounting as necessary to maintain a steady flow of information as need to support both internal and external customers.
- High School/GED required
- 5+ years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field desired- Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff required
- Strong leadership skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required

- Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, and complete an audiogram test
