The Lead Operations Center Technician is responsible for real-time oversight of distributed energy systems from our Network Operations Center (NOC). This role ensures operational compliance, supports junior staff development, and assists with site diagnostics, analytics, and shift coordination. You will contribute to operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and client engagement activities.
This position is based in a standard office environment and may involve extended periods of sitting and computer use. The schedule may include rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights) to support 24/7 operations.

- Operate and monitor distributed energy assets in real time, ensuring adherence to dispatch instructions and site-specific procedures.
- Coordinate with O&M teams, site owners, and external stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior operators; may act as NOC Manager during absences.
- Support shift scheduling and rotational shift coverage in coordination with the NOC Manager.
- Collaborate with Monitoring & Diagnostics teams using predictive analytics to optimize asset performance.
- Assist with improvement processes, training development, and onboarding of new operators and clients.
- Contribute to business development through proposal support and strategic planning sessions.
- Provide technical expertise in distributed energy systems, controls, and documentation standards.- 5+ years of related work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree, certification, or trade/vocational experience preferred
- Prior experience with battery storage, solar, wind, or thermal generation systems (simple or combined cycle)
- Experience in lead or supervisory operations role Strong knowledge of power plant systems, operations, and project execution
- Familiarity with control systems, analytics tools, and documentation processes
- Basic understanding of construction and constructability principles Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate in a fast-paced environment
