Define Avangrid Renewables (AREN) growth plan in priority regions, including pipeline needs (Megawatts, technology among Wind, Solar, Storage, etc.) budget, regional contribution to goals, and other required resources. Identify short-term strategic plan gaps to define project acquisition goals. Provide support on Inflation Reduction Act/Safe Harbor Strategy. Analyze the latest regulatory changes and provide recommendations on the upcoming strategy. Define the strategy and road to Final Investment Decision of each project (Schedule and Budget) with subject matter experts. Categorize projects among Build to own, Keep to Sell, Monetize, Freeze, Challenged, etc. to allow business to convey the project strategy to each of the developers. Continue assessment of the competitiveness of each project of the pipeline. Analyze all variables driving the competitiveness of each project, including technical (CAPEX, Net Capacity Factor, OPEX) economical (Levelize Cost of Energy vs Market prices), offtake possibilities, development status, interconnection, and permitting. Identify and propose possible monetization options for projects in our pipeline. Analyze upcoming commitments and expenses to provide strategy recommendations to senior management. Track competitors’ activities and reporting. Track regulatory changes provided by the regulation team and provide tactical solutions and recommendations to mitigate impacts and to benefit from new regulatory environments. Consolidate and review the final version of the investment dossier, ensuring that it covers all of the development, permitting and origination business case and risks. Provide recommendations on the Power Purchase negotiation boundaries to ensure that the Power Purchase Agreement covers all the outstanding development risks. Work with the interconnection team to develop a long-term interconnection strategy to gain a strategic position in the market.
Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Must have 6 years of experience in: Working in the renewables and electric market industries (Origination, Development, RES Financial modeling and M&A); Visual Basic for Applications (VBA); SAP; and Power BI.
