We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Controls Engineer to join our team at GE Vernova Grid Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems engineering, with a focus on power transmission systems. The Lead Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced control systems for our Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.


# Job Description


Responsabilités essentielles

- Diriger la conception, le développement et la mise en œuvre de systèmes de contrôle pour les dispositifs FACTS, y compris la production, la transmission et la distribution d'énergie. Développer des algorithmes de contrôle et des logiciels pour le contrôle et la surveillance en temps réel des systèmes d'énergie.

- Collaborer avec des équipes transversales, y compris des ingénieurs électriciens, des développeurs de logiciels et des chefs de projet, pour assurer l'intégration réussie des systèmes de contrôle.

- Effectuer la modélisation, la simulation et l'analyse des systèmes pour optimiser les stratégies de contrôle et améliorer les performances du système.

- Fournir des conseils techniques et un mentorat aux ingénieurs juniors et soutenir leur développement professionnel.

- Participer aux tests et à la validation des systèmes de contrôle, en veillant à la conformité avec les normes et réglementations de l'industrie.

- Dépanner et résoudre les problèmes techniques complexes liés aux systèmes de contrôle.

- Se tenir au courant des dernières avancées en ingénierie des systèmes de contrôle et en technologie des systèmes d'énergie.

- Préparer la documentation technique, y compris les spécifications de conception, les plans de test et les manuels d'utilisation.

- Soutenir les activités de développement commercial en fournissant une expertise technique et en contribuant au développement de propositions.


Qualifications requises

- Baccalauréat en génie électrique, en ingénierie des systèmes de contrôle ou dans un domaine connexe. Une maîtrise est préférée.

- Minimum de 8 ans d'expérience en ingénierie des systèmes de contrôle, avec une spécialisation dans les systèmes de transmission d'énergie.

Essential Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for FACTS devices, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.

- Develop control algorithms and software for real-time control and monitoring of power systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure the successful integration of control systems.

- Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize control strategies and improve system performance.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.

- Participate in the testing and validation of control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to control systems.

- Stay current with the latest advancements in control systems engineering and power systems technology.

- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.

- Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.


Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a focus on power transmission systems.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $88,600.00 and $147,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
