We’re looking for a Lead Compensation Consultant to design, deliver, and elevate pay programs that align with our business goals and talent strategies. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders, lead complex initiatives, and bring deep expertise in market practices, regulatory requirements, and compensation methodologies. You’ll help shape our compensation philosophy, guide strategic decisions, and build frameworks that support our expanding workforce and evolving organizational needs. - Design, evaluate, and enhance compensation programs (e.g., base pay, incentive plans, recognition programs) to support strategic business objectives and market competitiveness.
- Lead complex job evaluations, market benchmarking, and pay equity analyses, providing expert recommendations to HR and business leaders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leadership, influencing compensation decisions, promotions, job offers, and organizational design.
- Oversee annual compensation cycles, including merit, incentive, equity reviews, ensuring compliance, consistency, and alignment with business priorities.
- Develop sophisticated models, analyses, and presentations that deliver insights on compensation trends, program effectiveness, and workforce cost management.
- Monitor, interpret, and advise on regulatory, legislative, and market trends, recommending adjustments to maintain competitiveness and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in compensation processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and enhance decision-making.
- Partner across HR and with business leaders to support initiatives in job architecture, job leveling, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning.
- Provide thought leadership, mentor less experienced team members, and contribute to building organizational capability in compensation.
- Provides leadership coverage in the manager’s absence, ensuring seamless team operations, continuity of work, and timely decision-making.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) - WorldatWork (WAW) Preferred
- Minimum 10 years extensive experience in compensation, with proven ability to lead complex projects, consult with senior leaders, and shape compensation practices and strategy.

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
