Laser Operator
Job Description:
This position is responsible for the processing of jobs needing laser cutting from their release from project management until laser cutting and part processing is completed.
Essential Duties
•Set up and operate Fiber Laser, producing parts to meet production requirements.
•Identify materials needed and load on the machines as required.
•Make program edits when required.
•Prep finished parts for shipment as time allows.
•Change out consumables and make adjustments as necessary.
Other Duties:
•Perform material handling functions, including loading material for job runs, when needed.
•Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance.
•Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances.
•Maintain shop, tools and other equipment.
Special Skills:
•Requires 1-3 years of CNC Laser experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
•Ability to learn to program laser cutting program and automated offloading equipment functions.
•Understanding of flat print drawings is desired.
•Must be an independent worker who can be given tasks to complete without constant supervision after initial training.
Work Experience Desired:
•Experience with parts nesting software and laser control programming
Physical Requirements
•Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time.
•Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 40lbs
For initial training, the position is M-F 7am - 3:30pm.
Once training is complete, the position is M-Th 2:30pm to 1am.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
