Landfill Spotter=Riverside

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Landfill Spotter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials and guiding customers safely in the landfill.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

. Inspect materials and sort items or materials into piles prepping for the Equipment Operator.

. Direct Customers where to safely dump their debris at the landfill.

. Pull metal and lead items from piles being disposed.

. Monitor piles to ensure they are the appropriate size.

. Remove items that can be recycled and are not acceptable for disposal at the landfill.

. Follow appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guideline for operating and maintaining equipment.

. Report any worker-public safety factors.

. Attend weekly/monthly safety/operations meetings.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.

. Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.

. Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

. Ability to follow safe operating practices.

. Ability to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

. Ability and willingness to work in a team environment

. Ability to read, write and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignments.

. Push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, climbing steps, and overhead reaching.
