Laborer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various operations within our distribution center. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Laborer will be responsible for tasks related to assisting customers in unloading material, processing and sorting metals, and materials, inventory control, organizing and maintaining shop, and materials handling.

Duties

- Assist in the distribution center operations by performing various labor tasks.

- Support order fulfillment processes by accurately processing, sorting and packing items.

- Conduct inventory control activities, ensuring accurate stock levels and organization.

- Operate tools and equipment safely, including saw, bailer, shear, forklift as needed for materials handling.

- Perform heavy lifting and moving of products throughout the facility.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency.

- Weight items on truck and floor scale.

- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Skills

- Experience in a scrap metal center environment is preferred.

- Knowledge of order fulfillment processes and inventory management techniques.

- Ability to operate tools and equipment safely.

- Strong skills in materials handling with an emphasis on safety protocols.

- Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods.

- Familiarity with different fe and non-ferrous metals a plus.

- Experience with cut-off saw a plus.

- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.

- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

- If no previous experience we can train you if you're hard working and willing to learn.

- Steel toe shoes with a metatarsal guard required. If you do not have them we will assist you in acquiring and pay for 1/2 of a pair annually. We provide all other necessary safety gear.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
