Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Agriculture and Life Sciences Division
Purpose: This position will be responsible for performing testing services and operations based on specific analytical requirements that may include regional and international analysis. Special emphasis will be placed on Life Sciences/Agriculture samples, handling all types of samples including soil, plant, fertilizer, manure, feed, pharmaceuticals and related materials.
Education Required: Post-secondary degree in a science program
Other Requirements:
•Familiar with laboratory procedures.
•Familiar with basic lab equipment
•Familiar with QA/QC protocol and GLP
•Thrives in a fast-paced environment
•Customer focused and can work with minimal supervision
•High energy and will be willing to work extended hours when required
•Excellent communication skills
•Knowledge of farm practices and terminology is an asset
•Flexible, willing to work all lab tasks as needed
Responsibilities:
•Provide hands on bench top analysis for customer samples.
•Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as HPLC, GC, and other relevant lab equipment
•Maintain analytical equipment to ensure operational requirements are met.
•Provide detailed support to testing and help develop customized customer support services using various media.
•Work under established ISO 17025 and or GLP quality systems.
•Establish and manage day to day tasks.
•Identify bottle necks and assist in streamlining operations.
•Ensure data is released in a timely manner and accordance with turnaround times.
•Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and procedures committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
•Follow up, identify and communicate incidents that require immediate attention within the division.
•Assist in other various lab departments as required
•Ensure analysis is performed without delay
•Any other tasks as determined by the supervisor

Pay: $20.00 per hour
