The Mechanical Engineer is an essential member of our multi-disciplinary engineering teams. As a member of the team, you will report to a Senior Mechanical Engineer and be involved in the overall design and execution of all aspects of process and mechanical design. You will be familiar with regulatory processes for provincial or state energy agencies, as well as boiler pressure vessel authorities. You will also review and coordinate procurement phases of the teams’ projects.
Coordinating with the project engineering team for the execution of the design of projects.
Performing design calculations including hydraulic line sizing calculations, mechanical piping stress calculations, PSV sizing, equipment sizing for various unit processes, and providing the associated documentation.
Developing engineering design drawings, reports, construction documents, and client required forms.
Developing and checking Plot Plans, P&IDs, Piping Plans, and Isometric drawings.
Overseeing the review of equipment technical bid submissions.
Providing regular updates on work progress to support preparation of cost and schedule reports.
General understanding of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 and associated CSA, ASME and API specifications.
Overseeing the implementation of corporate quality and safety standards into projects.
Overseeing and coordinating the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations.
Participating in field trips, which are typically a few days and less frequently a few weeks, while assisting in gathering information from existing facilities.
Engineer with eligibility to obtain an American PE or Canadian P.Eng.
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with an accredited Canadian or American university (or equivalent).
Comprehensive understanding of interdisciplinary engineering deliverables for project execution specific to the energy, transmission pipeline, and petrochemical industries.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
