Role Summary
The Manufacturing & Design Engineer supports the design, documentation, and technical execution of electrical control products including PLC panels, junction boxes, solar skids, metering stations, and VFD panels. This role includes developing electrical drawings, generating BOMs, reviewing customer specifications, and collaborating with the shop floor to ensure accuracy and manufacturability. The Engineer ensures all designs meet UL-508A, NEC, and customer requirements and that they are delivered in alignment with project schedules and IFC drawing packages.

•Project Manager: Aligns design milestones and deliverables to project timelines.
•Manufacturing Lead: Supports fabrication with drawing clarifications and technical direction.
•Drafters: Prepares and reviews panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and IFA/IFC drawing sets.
•QA / Testing Team: Participates in validation, redlines, and FAT documentation.
Primary Responsibilities
A. Electrical Design
•Develop panel layouts, wiring schematics, conduit/cable schedules, and BOMs based on customer requirements.
•Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards, including UL-508A, NEC, and client specifications.
•Review and approve IFA and IFC drawing sets for release to production.
B. Technical Support to Manufacturing
•Provide technical clarification to shop personnel during assembly and testing phases.
•Respond to redlines, nonconformance issues, and material substitutions in coordination with the Manufacturing Lead.
•Review build packages for completeness and update documentation throughout the production cycle.
C. Project Coordination
•Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure engineering deliverables align with schedules.
•Track design changes and document revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
•Ensure D-Tools and documentation platforms are updated with correct material data and revision history.
D. Material Review
•Review and confirm accuracy of pick lists and BOMs generated in D-Tools.
•Assist warehouse and procurement teams in verifying materials and substitutions.
E. Administrative Task
•Track and register weekly engineering hours using Deltek and/or D-Tools as part of the project timesheet process.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
•Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent design tools.
•Ability to read and produce IFC-level control panel documentation.
•Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
•2+ years of experience designing control panels or industrial automation systems.
•Knowledge of UL-508A panel design practices, industrial automation components, and modular assemblies.
•Familiarity with D-Tools, Deltek, or other ERP/project systems.
•Experience with Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, or ABB automation components.
