Location: Support, East Bank Demerara
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Operate and monitor dredging equipment and systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.
•Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
•Diagnose, repair, and maintain dredging machinery to ensure optimal performance.
•Supervise and provide technical support to dredging crew members; train team on equipment use and safety procedures.
•Monitor environmental conditions and adjust dredging operations to comply with environmental regulations.
•Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and operational performance.
•Ensure compliance with safety standards and local environmental laws.
•Collaborate with the Dredge Captain and COO to align operations with project schedules and goals.
•Assist with project budgeting and cost estimation for dredging activities.
•Analyze operational data and prepare reports on equipment performance, project progress, and technical challenges.
•Recommend and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
•Perform any additional duties assigned by the Dredge Captain or COO.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in dredging operations or marine engineering.
•In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems in dredging machinery.
•Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and reporting skills.
•Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations governing dredging.
•Proven experience in training and mentoring junior crew members.
•Leadership abilities with excellent communication and team management skills.
•Proficiency in dredge management software (e.g., Teledyne PDS) is an asset.
•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
