Locations: Multiple sites in B.C.
Base rate: $62.50/hr
Overtime: 4 hours daily, paid at $93.75/hr
Schedule: 14x14, 12-hour days
Night shift premium: $1.25/hr
Accommodations: Company housing provided at no cost; some sites have camp
Flights: Paid from any major airport in Canada
Tools: Brand-new, fully tooled service trucks provided
Travel time: Paid to and from the site daily and at each end of your set
Meal Allowance: $60 per day
Overview
This is project-based, part-time work focused on shutdowns, outages, and overhauls. The majority of work is on mining equipment—especially hydraulic and electric shovels. We will have ongoing projects. This role is ideal for someone already employed who wants to pick up two-week sets on an opposite rotation, or anyone who prefers project work.

Role
We are seeking skilled and experienced Journeyperson Welders to perform maintenance and repairs on mining equipment, fabricate mining and structural components, and uphold high-quality and safety standards. Most outage and overhaul scopes will be on hydraulic and electric shovels.
Main Job Duties
- Perform maintenance and repair on mining equipment at customer shops and in the field.
- Execute shutdown/outage and overhaul scopes on hydraulic and electric shovels (e.g., booms/sticks, crowd/hoist systems, undercarriage, hydraulic and electrical systems).
- Fabricate mining and structural components as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints for fabrication and repair work.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and adhere to safety procedures.
- Journeyperson Welder certification.
- Red Seal required.
- Heavy equipment repair experience required (haul trucks, dozers, shovels, excavators).
- Outage and overhaul experience on hydraulic and electric shovels preferred.
- Mining equipment repair experience is considered an asset.
- Proficient with Stick, MIG, large wire-feed welders, Cooper-heat, plasma cutter, lance, overhead and/or mobile truck cranes, and other tools of the trade.
- Mining industry experience preferred.
- CWB tickets are considered an asset.
- Line boring experience is considered an asset.
- Previous field experience required; must have worked out of a service truck.
- Able to work under pressure with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written. communication skills
- Proficient in English (verbal and written)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Breath alcohol test
- 8-panel urine drug test (includes marijuana)
