About the Role

Deltak Manufacturing Inc. is seeking experienced Journeyman Welder-Fitters with strong metal layout and fabrication skills. This is a hands-on, shop-based position working on complex structural components.

Key Responsibilities

- Follow all safety policies, including proper use of PPE.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Interpret blueprints, layout specs, and verbal instructions to fit, align, and weld components.

- Weld a variety of parts and materials (sheet metal, plate, pipe, I-beams, tubing, etc.).

- Use air and power tools safely and efficiently.

- Load and move materials as needed.

- Report any safety issues, near misses, or incidents immediately.

- Work 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Journeyman-level combo welder with flux core and hardware welding experience.

- Able to pass 3G and 4G weld tests (vertical uphill and overhead).

- Proficient in layout, fitting, and fabrication per blueprints.

- Skilled in using hand and power tools.

- Basic math skills and the ability to read fabrication drawings.

- Strong work ethic: punctual, dependable, safety-minded.

- Capable of working independently or as part of a team.

- Comfortable communicating via radio, phone, and face-to-face.

- Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and alcohol test.

- Able to work inside the shop or outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull during 8–10 hour shifts.

- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 75 lbs occasionally, using proper technique.

- Able to wear required PPE for extended periods.
