Great Lakes Energy is seeking an Information Technology Systems Administrator to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our technology systems, servers, infrastructure, and data centers. A Day in The Life of an IT Systems Administrator
You'll install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, servers, and supporting infrastructure across the company's systems and data centers. From monitoring system performance to implementing upgrades, you will play a key role in ensuring employees have reliable tools with minimal downtime.
You will also help manage environmental monitoring systems, uninterruptable power supplies, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard our critical business operations. On any given day, you may be coordinating system changes across our service territory, supporting Help Desk staff with complex cases, or coaching team members to expand their technical knowledge.
This role also requires after-hours availability for emergency support to keep our systems running smoothly.
You are an experienced IT professional with a strong background in systems administration and enterprise technologies. Skilled in Windows and Linux operating systems, servers, virtual environments, and data centers, you're also proficient with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, and network management. You bring knowledge of disaster recovery, IT security practices, and industry regulations, supported by a bachelor's degree in computer networks and systems or computer information systems and at least five years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience. With strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, you excel at keeping systems reliable and supporting business continuity.
