We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Administrator to join our team and manage our essential technology infrastructure.
The IT Administrator is responsible for the architecture, configuration, operation, and security of Proto Technologies' IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining the stability, integrity, and security of our systems and networks. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with strong experience in Microsoft 365, network management, server administration, and a working knowledge of cybersecurity compliance frameworks relevant to the defense industry.
- Network Management: Design, configure, and maintain the company's LAN, including firewalls, switches, and access points. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and security.
- Server Administration: Manage and maintain on-premise and virtual server environments. Perform regular backups, implement disaster recovery plans, and apply necessary patches and updates.
- IT Security: Implement and manage security policies and controls to protect company data and infrastructure. Administer security tools like Microsoft Defender and Purview. Monitor for security threats, manage incident response, and ensure systems are hardened against attacks.
- Systems Management: Serve as the primary administrator for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including managing Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Exchange Online, Intune for mobile device management (MDM), and SharePoint.
- Technical Support: Provide timely and effective helpdesk support to all employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Asset Management: Oversee the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, tracking, and disposal of hardware and software. Manage software licensing and compliance.
- Compliance & Auditing: Support the company’s compliance efforts with CMMC 2.0 and NIST 800-171r2. Assist in preparing for audits, implementing required controls, and providing security awareness training to staff.
- Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system health, security status, and project progress.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively research and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance operational efficiency, security, and performance.
- Proven experience as an IT Administrator, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft 365 admin portal, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Exchange, Defender, and Purview.
- Proficiency in managing LAN environments, including firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Solid experience with both on-premise (e.g., Windows Server) and virtual (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) server environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Direct experience with CMMC 2.0 and/or NIST 800-171r2 compliance frameworks is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert).- Experience working in a manufacturing or defense contracting environment.
