IT/Security Engineer

Job Summary :

This position reports directly to the Piketon System Engineering Manager. Responsible for the technical support of various systems within your field of engineering required for operations at American Centrifuge Plant. Act as a liaison to the Security and Regulatory groups to ensure program requirements are met. Use knowledge, expertise, and problem-solving skills to maximize system availability and reliability. Capable of evaluating system performance and system health for the security system to management. Propose paths forward to align with system hardware/software capabilities in line with plant modification programs, policies, and procedures. Support technical interface tasks between the system owners, licensed service providers, and IT departments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

Responsible for the development of engineering documentation including, but not limited to, system requirements documents (SRDs), engineering evaluations (EE), equivalency substitutions evaluation (ESE), design analysis and calculations (DAC)s, Change Evaluations (CE), Job Field Instructions (JFI), Post Maintenance Testing (PMT)s, Preventive Maintenance determinations, and design verification test plans (TP)s.

Education and Experience

Minimum Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering field from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) school or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Minimum Experience

Be able to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC “Q” level security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employe, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
