The IT PMO Manager is responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the successful execution of IT projects and programs. This role involves managing project managers, implementing project management methodologies, and aligning projects with the company's strategic objectives. The IT PMO Manager will work closely with business stakeholders and senior leadership to prioritize and resource projects, driving excellence in product, process, and technology.
Essential Functions:
- Project Management: Manage the organizational governance of the company's technology project portfolio by working with Technology and Business Leadership to align business initiatives, operational governance, and planning
- Methodology Implementation: Define, implement, and manage PMO processes and policies to ensure consistent project execution
- Stakeholder Management: Interact with project stakeholders, manage stakeholder communication, and ensure alignment with defined
- Risk Management: Oversee project risk management and develop strategies to manage and mitigate risks
- Documentation: Ensure the maintenance of all project documentation and records for auditing purposes
- Training and Mentoring: Provide project management training and mentoring to project managers and team members
- Budget Management: Manage the PMO’s budget and resources
- Project Reviews: Conduct project reviews to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations for future projects
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- Experience: 10+ years of program or project management experience implementing software and technology solutions- Certifications: PMP, Product Lifecycle Development certification, Agile/Scrum certification preferred
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects at once. Skilled communicator with experience forming alliances and bringing together multiple stakeholders to execute on a common mission
- This position may manage Full Time & Contracted Project Managers as necessary to scale the resource pool
- Responsible to ensure IT Managed PMO’s are following established budget procedures and reporting
- Technology Acquisition & Deployment: Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and process requirements for new technology
- Relationship & Demand Management: Formulate an operating and engagement model for driving demand management, prioritization, delivery, and communications with senior management and key stakeholders
- Vendor Management: Implement processes to manage costs, ensure contracts are operationalized, and drive vendor performance throughout the deal life cycle
- Industry Experience: Experience in logistics, wholesale distribution, or broad supply chain solutions
