NextEra Energy is seeking a motivated and innovative intern to support the development and implementation of digital twin technology for our nuclear plant operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with our engineering and technology teams to utilize AI components to enhance plant safety, efficiency, dose reduction and predictive maintenance. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge field and contribute to industry-leading initiatives.
- Assist in the Development of Digital Twin Models: Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to support the creation and refinement of digital twin models for various nuclear plant systems
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze operational data to inform and validate digital twin models, ensuring accuracy and reliability
- AI Integration: Implement and fine-tune AI algorithms that contribute to predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and system optimization within the digital twin framework
- Simulation and Testing: Conduct simulations and testing to validate the performance and accuracy of digital twin models and AI components
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of projects, methodologies, and findings. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate progress and results to stakeholders
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nuclear engineers, data scientists, and IT specialists, to ensure cohesive integration of digital twin technology
- Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in digital twin technology, AI, and their applications in the nuclear energy sector. Propose innovative solutions and improvements based on current research and industry trends
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
