A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is a major manufacturer of water works valves and fittings, high-pressure gas valves, and residential and commercial water pumping systems. The company is privately owned and has a history of quality products since its founding in 1856. A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. is looking for an IT Intern.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from manufacturing and office co-workers.
•Log, categorize, and prioritize tickets using our IT service management system.
•Dispatch support tickets to the appropriate IT team members based on issue type and urgency.
•Follow up on open issues to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
•Maintain clear documentation of support activities and resolutions.
•Assist with basic troubleshooting and provide status updates to users.
•Assist IT staff with routine tasks and project work.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
•Strong organizational and communication skills.
•Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
•Familiarity with IT service desk software and basic troubleshooting concepts is a plus.
•Customer service mindset and ability to stay calm under pressure.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
•Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, and data analytics or closely related filed. Strong problem solving and communication skills are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team and management.
