Job Summary

As SPT’s Founding IT Lead, you’ll be responsible for building and owning the entire IT function of the company. You’ll work closely with leadership, product, and operations to establish secure, scalable systems and enforce best practices to protect confidential and sensitive company data. This is a highly strategic and operational role that will grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Infrastructure & Systems Setup

- Design and implement core IT infrastructure for the company, including networking, workstations, SaaS tools, device management, and access control.

- Select and deploy device management and endpoint protection solutions (e.g., MDM, antivirus, etc.).

- Set up secure cloud-based file storage, email, and identity management systems (e.g., Google Workspace, Okta, etc.).

- Establish IT onboarding and offboarding workflows for employees.

2. Security & Compliance

- Define and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive company and customer data.

- Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to threats proactively.

- Ensure compliance with standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or others relevant to company growth stages.

- Lead employee security awareness training and internal policy enforcement.

3. Technical Support & Operations

- Serve as the go-to expert for day-to-day IT needs, from troubleshooting to access requests.

- Own IT ticketing and service response metrics, even if initially informal.

- Build internal documentation and scalable processes for future team members.

4. Strategic Growth

- Forecast future infrastructure needs and propose scalable solutions.

- Advise on IT-related vendor decisions, budgeting, and licensing.

- Hire and manage additional IT or security team members as the company grows.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- 1–3+ years of experience in IT administration, security, or infrastructure engineering.

- Proven track record of setting up IT systems from scratch, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.

- Experience managing identity and access management tools, device management platforms, and endpoint protection.

- Hands-on and proactive mindset—comfortable being a department of one at the start.

- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills in both English and Chinese

Nice-to-Have

- Experience supporting a remote/hybrid workforce.

- Prior experience with company-wide security incident response plans.

- Automation/scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for process efficiency.
