JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Computer Engineer.
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, this position is responsible for supporting Nuclear design activities for computer hardware and software systems (including maintenance and troubleshooting).
- Computer hardware development and maintenance of computer systems containing Category I/II/III software
- Preparation of computer hardware design requirements and associated documentation in accordance with Engineering Change Control (ECC)
- Circuit design, analog and digital including troubleshooting of computer hardware at module-level and circuit-level
- Computer system timing analysis and the verification of computer system performance requirements
- Computer hardware design, development, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting, in real time computer systems or embedded systems
- Application of cyber security best practices, digital incident management, and incident recovery procedure development and execution
- Maintain common set of real-time software-related policies, standards, procedures and guidelines for the nuclear governing document framework (N-PROG-MP-0006)
- Maintain awareness of current software engineering tools and methodologies and provide ongoing recommendations to maintain an optimized and effective software development and maintenance process
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent education)
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
- Ability to analyze and understand technical information and quickly acquire new technical knowledge
- Nuclear experience is considered an asset
- Experience and ability as a team player to understand and manage the interrelationships of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives and ensure projects satisy stakeholder requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have a strong interest in fast-paced, challenging work environments where showing initiative and self-motivation are assets
- Strong in understanding, executing, and following governance and procedures with a questioning and analytical attitude/approach under minimum required supervision
- Candidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the Province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
