SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Interprovincial Transport Specialist is responsible for ensuring that third party transportation contracts are in alignment with customer obligations and system demand. Additionally, this role involves representing and advocating for TransGas and its customers on interprovincial transport committees, gathering market intelligence, and performing daily activities to optimize transportation assets.
Position Details
•Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities
•Renew transportation contracts, ensuring transport capacity meets customer obligations and system requirements.
•Regularly attend third party transportation committees and task forces to collect, analyze, and interpret crucial information, advocate for TransGas, and communicate relevant impacts to the necessary stakeholders.
•Collect and analyze natural gas market fundamentals to support strategy development to capitalize on potential opportunities and revenue strategies.
•Optimize customer value by executing tasks to minimize unutilized transportation assets.
•Provide insights to various working groups and corporate initiatives on the natural gas market, energy trends and third-party transportation activities.
•Collect information, analyze and develop strategic recommendations for import capacity and system expansion capital projects.
•Act as a corporate stakeholder and project sponsor for facility projects related to upstream transportation contracts.
•Support regulatory processes for proposed projects.
•Document the processes and best practices for the Interprovincial Transport program to enhance the retention of program knowledge and improve audit trails.
•Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
•Degree in Economics, Commerce, or Engineering.
•Eight (8) years of postgraduate experience and demonstrated competency in the energy sector or natural gas markets.
•Knowledge of natural gas markets and experience in trading would be considered an asset.
•Ability to collaborate with others and foster positive relationships with both internal and external parties.
•Ability to identify problems, analyze data, recognize patterns, and make informed decisions.
•Ability to effectively communicate intricate information, both orally and in writing, to individuals with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of expertise.
•Exhibits a proactive approach and a proven capacity for self-sufficiency.
•Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
•Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
•A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
