POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position assists Epic’s Manufacturing Management team in ensuring all manufacturing equipment is functioning optimally according to the product’s design, verifying that both short and long-term plant maintenance objectives are met, and is responsible for all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) duties and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
•Assists in planning, engineering, and laying out any new machinery, processes, and equipment to be added or any changes made to update and improve operations.
•Designs and develops mechanical, operational, and safety related systems that improve general business conditions as directed.
•Assumes various administrative duties such as, but not limited to, documentation development and regular updating for the following facility programs: 5S, safety, job hazard analyses, general training, machine specific training, standard operating procedures, plant job descriptions, lock out – tag out, quality control, compliance, preventative maintenance, capital project development and progress tracking, efficiency and effectiveness measurement, and production postings.
•Inspects all plant machinery, equipment and vehicles as directed.
•Contributes to the direction and coordination of when, how and to what extent maintenance, repairs and replacements are to be done.
•Coordinates various operations tests and collects data on test results, which helps interpret efficiencies, materials consumption, quality and process controls, and opportunities for improvement.
•Coordinates with the Extrusion and Material Prep Departments when testing new product lines.
•Develops exceptional understanding of manufacturing components such as, but not limited to, 5S, facility safety, employee training and development, quality control, process efficiency and effectiveness analysis, regulatory and compliance, materials procurement, batching standards, capital project planning and completion, data collection, and quantitative analytics.
•Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies, ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
•Regular attendance is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•College student in the Engineering field
•CAD knowledge preferred.
•Basic understanding of safety knowledge.
•Requires ability to operate forklift and pass an annual forklift certification course.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
•Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
•Must be able to operate office equipment to include calculator, computer, copy machine, document scanner, fax and telephones.
•Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License

Salary Range $25-$25/hour
