Key Areas of Responsibility
•Support a growing and active portfolio of diverse renewable energy assets (Renewable Natural Gas, Combined Cycle Power Plants)
•Perform various job duties including but not limited to drawing redlines/updates, operational optimizations, small capital project management, asset tracking, data analysis, change management, and process safety.
•Review and support updates to maintenance and operations procedures.
•Travel to sites to support field activities such as drawing updates, asset management, and supporting other scopes of work.
•Gain exposure to engineering, project management, and operations under supervision.
•Additional professional growth opportunities will be provided based on interests and career goals.
•Comply with all workplace, federal, state and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations.
•Complete all applicable EDL Health and Safety training programs.
•Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.
•In addition to the duties set out above, the Engineering Intern may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.
Person Specification
•Ability to be open-minded, engaged and excited to learn with a customer service mindset.
•Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
•Ability to travel to sites to support field activities.
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment with others with diverse backgrounds as well as independently.
•Ability to collect and interpret data and write clear, accurate reports and specifications.
•Open to working in a mix of both in an office environment as well as in the field environment at operating sites.
•Strong interest in renewable energy and sustainability
Qualifications and Experience
•Prior internship or co-op is a plus.
•Currently pursuing higher education in one of the following areas: mechanical, chemical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or computer science at an ABET-accredited engineering institution.
•Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
•Proficiency in computers, software, and engineering applications (e.g Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerBI, CAD Tools, MATLAB, and/or process modelling programs)
•Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, gas monitoring, etc.), as needed. All PPE will be provided.
•A valid driver’s license is required to support potential travel to project sites.
