POSITION SUMMARY:
MasTec Canada is currently recruiting for an Insulation Supervisor to join its Industrial Division in support of building pumping stations near Lac la Biche, AB. This is a four (4) month camp based role, with an immediate start, on a rotational schedule with 15 days on, 6 days off, 10 hour shifts.Candidates will be required to use their own transportation to Lac la Biche. Transport will be provided to the site from Lac la Biche area. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Provide supervision, work layout, and all necessary material take offs to complete work scope
•Develop, maintain and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with the project and operations team to ensure budgets and timelines are met
•Maintain strong working relations with client representatives, subcontractors, suppliers and labor force
•Collaborate with client/owner in order to meet cost and schedule objectives
•Provide oversight for the timely delivery, receipt, and quality of materials
•Support the Project Manager by ensuring all foreman comply with project management deliverables
•Strategically plan and implement resource requirements to meet/exceed crew productivity levels and schedule milestone dates
•Investigate and resolve contract disputes by making recommendations to management for final action
•Recommend best practice improvements for production, performance, quality and safety
•Demonstrate leadership in promoting overall compliance with MasTec EH&S standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors
•Ensure that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly
•Ensure field process is in place to train the workforce on all safe job procedures and critical tasks
•Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and stakeholders to encourage repeat and referral
•Must be able to recognize any changes to work plan and track accordingly
•Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements and select the type of insulation required
•Measure and cut insulating material to required dimensions using hand and power tools
•Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping, and other application and installation methods
•Fit insulation around obstructions and between studs and joists
•Installation of vapour barriers
•Fabricate metal sheets and apply insulating materials to finish surfaces
•Supervise and assist in onboarding
•Act as a role model for, and behave in ways that are aligned with, MasTec’s Core values of Teamwork, Excellence, Respect, Duty, Integrity and Protect, while encouraging other to do so as well

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:* Journeyman Insulator certification
•10+ years of insulator experience in oilfield, industrial or facility construction
•3+ years in a leadership capacity as an Insulator Supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:* Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and living out MasTec Canada’s 6 Core Values
•Valid Class 5 driver’s license and current clean drivers abstract (5 years) is required

•Ability to work well under pressure and within timelines
•Must have original copies of tickets and available to present upon request

•Ability to understand how mechanical systems work and how to operate and maintain machinery effectively
•Read and interpret documents such as safety rules
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required

•Ability to follow instructions and make good decisions is required
•Must have an acute awareness of surroundings including under, above and around you
