Job Description - Instrumentation Technician I
Vacancies exist for the position of Instrumentation Technician I in the Maintenance section of Tucson Power Production.

Position Description
The Instrumentation Technician I is responsible for the efficient and safe maintenance and repair of all power plant and related equipment. Successful individuals placed into this classification will be responsible for the below position-related responsibilities. In addition, they are required to complete qualification signoffs as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician within two years of placement into this role.
Position-Related Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain continuous emissions monitoring equipment
- Install, calibrate, tune, and troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic instrument loops
- Install program, configure and tune digital process controllers
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair internal combustion gas turbine control systems.
- Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
- Develop and maintain data base for plant information and instrumentation
- Install and configure smart transmitters and recorders.
- Perform hazardous chemical removal and containment to include, Mercury, Radiation devices and other hazardous chemicals used in plant processes.
- Ability to read and understand prints, ladder logic and schematics.
- Basic skills in chemistry, Electricity, AC physics, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Basic math skills in Algebra, calculus, and geometry
- Must possess mechanical equipment knowledge and aptitude
- Must understand fluid power theories and principals
- Knowledge of programming languages and program structures
- Skilled in methods of oral and written communications.
- Working knowledge of PLC and DCS systems
- Basic Instrumentation familiarity (flow, pressure, differential pressure, precise calibrations, calibration equipment, PID control, analog references, signal interpretation)
