INSTRUMENTATION, CONTROLS & ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN, SHERMAN, TX
This role is responsible for delivering technical support and maintenance for instrumentation and electrical systems across natural gas processing facilities, compressor stations, and pipelines. Key responsibilities include the installation, repair, and upkeep of SCADA systems, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation, and electrical components. Additionally, this position will oversee the development and execution of projects to ensure equipment remains secure, reliable, and serviceable.

· Install, diagnose, and maintain SCADA systems, plant, pipeline, and compressor instruments and electrical equipment components with all job duties and responsibilities executed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner while in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
· Install, diagnose, and maintain pneumatic and intelligent instruments, electrical distribution systems, motor control gear, and associated equipment software.
· Install, diagnose, and maintain PLC's or DCS systems and processes or safety controls.
· Read and interpret manuals, policy, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID’s.
· Test, calibrate, and document plant and compressor station control and safety devices per DOT 192, DOT 195 or applicable PSM 1910 requirements, and ensure frequencies of required preventative maintenance task are kept current.
· Maintain and support industrial control systems with integrated IT components (e.g., Stratix switches)
· Collaborate with IT staff to ensure secure and reliable communication between field devices and central systems.
· Perform basic network diagnostics and support connectivity issues related to instrumentation (e.g., ethernet cabling)
· Document manage device configurations using digital tools and cloud-based platforms.
· Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP)
· Ability to work with cloud-based platforms for documentation and data sharing
· Comfortable using remote desktop tools and basic IT troubleshooting techniques.
· Actively participate in company safety programs, initiatives, and compliance audits.
· Perform specialized technical skills (e.g., develop complex design projects, cost estimates, evaluate electrical systems, build, and maintain ESD systems, maintain gas expander or skid unit control systems).
· Provide work direction, oversight, and inspect work provided by third-party contractors.
· Provide mentoring and oversight to less qualified employees.
· Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
· Perform energy isolation lockout/tagout procedures (LOTO) and other OSHA and company safety policies.
· Cross train and perform duties in other disciplines/departments.
· Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record.
· Ability to maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTU's, and I&E associated end-devices.
· Experience using software to troubleshoot, design, or configure control solutions specific to AVEVA InTouch, Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk.
· Demonstrated understanding of the National Electric Code and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical systems.
· Associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics Technology or related field.
· Related software and system certifications (i.e., Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Factory Talk, AVEVA Intouch, etc.)
· Extensive knowledge of DOT 192 and DOT 195, as it pertains to required testing and documentation for plants, compressor stations, pipelines, and/or facilities as required.

1. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions.
2. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
3. Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays.
4. Working in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials, and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment, supplied by company.
