The I&C Commissioning Technician is tasked with conducting calibrations and final assessments to verify that fabrication and construction deliverables are properly built, tested, and documented for startup. This role requires comprehensive expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), ladder logic, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Essential Duties
- Perform calibration and adjustments on instruments and test equipment, adhering to Company procedures, equipment data sheets, and customer specifications.
- Examine and evaluate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), loop and ladder diagrams, and relevant discipline-specific drawings.
- Perform instrumentation and electrical loop checks.
- Conduct final functional tests in collaboration with the technician at the customer’s facility.
- Provide performance feedback to engineering and maintenance.
- Generate documentation for device/system installation, including operational data, maintenance logs, and warranty records.
- Manage and maintain all commissioning documentation and folders.
- Verify that all necessary turnover documentation and forms are fully completed, including the required data and signatures.
- Promote Udelhoven’s zero-incident safety culture and take personal responsibility and accountability for implementing safe work practices across all projects, activities, and operations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience required.
- North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
- Experience working with or as a site automation engineer.
- Previous experience with PGP migration, control system modernization, Fire Gas modernization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Preference given to candidates with experience in commissioning, testing, or maintaining industrial systems or equipment within the Arctic oil and gas sector.
