Rotating Equipment Specialist (RES)This position can be based out of the

.This is a full-time position.
The successful candidate is expected to support the Maintenance Foreman with field operations activities for the area while maintaining an environmentally safe and cost-effective work environment. Specifically, the RES will interact daily with a focused technical team to facilitate the production of oil, gas facilities and associated wells. While supporting Production Operations the Maintenance Foreman and/or Lead in a field-based role the RES is expected to provide training and mentoring of junior techs and operators as required and is expected to handle required maintenance field duties. These duties may include project supervision, on-site support for the Production Foreman and Maintenance Foreman, advanced troubleshooting, and facility commissioning.
- Support the Maintenance Foreman/Lead as required in a field technical support role.
- Support the Production Team as required.
- Liaison with the production operators as a point of contact for troubleshooting and guidance.
- Provide holiday coverage for other RES, or Maintenance Foreman/Lead as agreed upon in advance.
- Provide onsite technical support for production startups, overhauls, startups, etc.
- Onsite project supervision to ensure Tourmaline quality standards are met.
- Advanced troubleshooting where follow up visits are required i.e. new facilities, working through start up etc.
- Compressor and Facility troubleshooting to optimize, correct deficiencies, resolve operational problems by working with Production team, Maintenance Lead, and Process Optimization Teams.
- Plan Turnarounds in conjunction with the Maintenance Foremen/Lead and Production team as well as providing on-site support to ensure the rotating equipment portion is executed in a safe, timely cost-effective manner.
- Perform routine site visits to follow up on service provider craftsmanship.
- Bring forward new operational efficiencies related to your area of expertise
- On-site inventory management of critical spares while ensuring critical components are stocked at facilities.
- Support the Maintenance Foremen/Lead on-site during Emission compliance testing.
- Perform small on-site repairs as required; i.e. 3600 check valves, compressor valves, spark plugs, job prep before techs are onsite, etc.
- Communicate to the Maintenance Foreman project short comings or vendor concerns to be followed up with by the Maintenance Foremen and Area Production Superintendent.
- Project or field initiatives to be brought forward through the proper channels Maintenance Lead, Production Foremen and Maintenance Foremen.
- Journeyman Certification in Millwright, HD or Automotive Mechanic,
- Effective communication (oral and written)
- Proficient within Microsoft Applications
- Strong leadership skills
- Assertive decision-making and recommendations
- Experience with CMMS systems would be an asset
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Demonstrates a commitment to Safety & Environmental principles and understanding of tools.
- Has a broad knowledge of resources and uses this knowledge to support operations and maintenance plans.
- Minimum of 10 years of production/field experience in a maintenance role
- Working knowledge in gas plant process would be an asset
- Factory training in, Gas 1, GET, AFA, would be an asset
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills would be an asset
