Responsibilities
- Represent Combined Metals positively and professionally.
- Identify areas of improvement in the company and assist in creating and implementing solutions.
- Arrive at work and meetings on time and prepared.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Work with all personnel and Regional Sales Manager(s) to satisfy and achieve company goals.
- Adhere to any Procedures & Work Instructions that include Sales.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Sales Manager.
- Respond to customer requests within 24 hours
- Receive and review customer requests for quotations to determine feasibility.
- Ensure sufficient information is obtained to be able to quote per the Work Instructions.
- Quotations are to be made promptly, typically within 24-48 hours of receiving the quotation, if it is a standard product; for non-standard quotes within 1 day after supply chain and/or engineering review of inquiry.
- Follow up on quotes as required and offer feedback to management
- Work with customers to resolve any discrepancies during the quoting process.
- It may be necessary to phone the customer during the quoting stage to make sure we have understood their requirements before providing a quotation.
- Develop quotations in cooperation with the Regional Sales Manager(s) or Sales Manager based on identified sales strategy and information collected from customers.
- Receive and review customer purchase orders against quotation and resolve any discrepancies with the customer.
- If necessary, call the customer to review the receipt of our order acknowledgment and contract dates are correct.
- Work with customers who have portals for their orders.
- Enter customer orders into Power-Term per the Work Instructions and acknowledge to the customer within 24-48 hours.
- Investigating and resolving billing claims and coordinating customer claims for non-conforming products with quality.
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent, college degree or currently pursuing preferred
- Experience with Lean manufacturing
- Ideal candidate will have prior sales experience in the metals market
- Some travel may be required
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills
