The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Innu Employment Coordinator to join our People and Community team in Voisey’s Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation.

This is a permanent position, working a Monday to Friday schedule with regular travel to the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site and Innu communities within Labrador.

As an Innu Employment Coordinator, you will play an integral part in supporting the hiring and training preferences for Innu Nation Members. The primary objective of the role is to ensure that qualified Indigenous candidates are given first consideration for all employment and training opportunities at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site as it relates to the Impacts and Benefits Agreement (IBA) with Innu Nation.

Vale recognizes the Impacts and Benefits Agreements with the Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut Government in which Innu and Inuit workers have first preference for employment at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site. This is guided by an adjacency principle that first gives preference to those who live on the coast of Labrador, followed by those residing in the rest of Labrador, those residing on the island of the province, followed by the rest of Canada.
