Synergy Windows and Doors Inc. is a fast-paced growing company making architectural windows and doors. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our painting team!
· Prepare aluminum and wood products for paints and stains
· Able to apply finishes for both wood and aluminum
· May be required to spray latex or enamel finishes onto products
· Ability to mix paint using solutions such as a catalyst
· Clean and wash spray guns before changing paint
· Ability to measure and cut wood to specifications when required
· Following all safety practices relating to operation of equipment and work processes
· Time management with a sense of urgency
· Maintain and improve quality standards, looking for constant improvement
· Always looking for ways to improve efficiencies, reduction of overtime hours and costs
· Ability to read and follow instructions with a focus on “doing it right” the first time
· Ability to accurately read a tape measure
· Ability to solve problems and look for creative solutions
· Willingness to learn additional skills and complete other duties as assigned
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
· Ability to work day shift or night shift as required to meet the needs of the business
· Ability to work overtime and some weekends when required
· Ability to work in a noisy, fast paced environment
· Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, which may include: bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, twisting, lifting, performing repetitive tasks, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
· Must have good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination to complete the job and safely work with a wide variety of hand tools
This individual must be able to operate all of the following equipment efficiently and safely: Chop saw, table saw, radial arm saw, band saw, drill, spindle sander, calipers, trammel points, pneumatic bender, brake shape table, hand tools and tape measure
· Continuing education and experience related to door assembly, carpentry or wood working skills are an asset
· Completion of: WHMIS Training , 4 Step Health and Safety Awareness Training
· First Aid/CPR and forklift training an asset
· Adhere to all health and safety procedures as set out by the company
· Ensure that you and all of your team members are using the appropriate safety protection, procedures, and using all safety precautions when operating equipment or using hazardous materials
· Keep work area clean, organized and free from hazards
· Report incidences to the Joint Health and Safety Committee and provide input as identified to continually improve safety practices
· Must wear CSA approved steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and any other PPE’s required to complete the job while on the shop floor at all times .
