Job Title: Industrial Mechanic

Reports To: Maintenance and Reliability Manager

Job Summary: Bingham & Taylor is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Culpeper, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our injection molding equipment, ensuring all machinery operates smoothly and efficiently. Main duties will include lubricating machinery, changing parts, and performing routine machinery maintenance within safety, quality, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Troubleshoot machinery and perform necessary adjustments to keep it operational.

•

Clean & Inspect machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, air guns, hoses, vacuums or other equipment.

•

Work to continually improve the PM (Preventive Maintenance) program.

•

Understand and exhibit working knowledge of Lock-Out / Tag-Out principles.

•

Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.

•

Collect and discard worn machine parts to maintain clean and safe work areas.

•

Disassemble machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.

•

Expertise in using all common hand tools and mechanical measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, dial gauges.

•

Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

•

Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.

•

Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.

•

Read work orders and instructions to determine which machines and equipment require repair or maintenance.

•

Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.

•

Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.

•

Interpret drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files, online sources, equipment vendors and manufacturers. Make additional sketches, diagrams, etc. necessary to communicate issues.

•

Start machines and observe mechanical operation to verify proper operation and to detect and electromechanical problems.

•

Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.

•

Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate operations.

•

Perform inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

•

Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.

•

Minimum 5 years of experience required in an industrial maintenance environment.

•

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with manufacturing industrial equipment.

•

Working knowledge of industrial hydraulics and pneumatics.

•

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

•

Basic welding skills: Mig/Stick, Oxygen/Acetylene cutting experience preferred.

•

Knowledge and understanding of 3-phase 460-volt, 3-phase 208-volt and 240-volt electrical distribution systems.

•

Demonstrated stable work history.

•

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

•

Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements: This position may require frequent bending, lifting, working from heights and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodation.
