Industrial Electrician/ Overhead Crane Technician

Job Overview

Blackmon Industrial Electric Services is actively seeking skilled Industrial Electricians to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various types of industrial equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and machinery in a fast-paced environment. The Industrial Electrician will work closely with other technicians and operators to ensure optimal performance of all equipment. The right candidate will have strong troubleshooting controls experience with proven knowledge of VFD drives. Must also be able to work at heights of up to 60' safely.

Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in industrial machinery and equipment.

- Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools to identify problems accurately.

- Collaborate with team members to perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery.

- Conduct repairs on machinery, overhead cranes, and HVAC units as needed.

- Operate forklifts, excavators, and cranes safely while performing maintenance tasks.

- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and assembly tasks.

- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients regarding service needs.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

- Proficient in predictive maintenance.

- Must be able to work in high heat.

Skills

- Proven experience with electrical systems in an industrial setting.

- Mechanical knowledge related to overhead traveling crane gearcases and braking systems is a must.

- Experience working with OEM parts and understanding fabrication processes is a plus.

- Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively for troubleshooting purposes.

- Strong skills in soldering and assembly of various components.

- Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.

- Previous OHTC technician or service technician experience is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
