Job Description
An Industrial Designer is responsible for completing the following duties:
•Identify areas of manufacturing process improvements
•Develop proposals for changes in the manufacturing process which includes cost analysis and justifications
•Present proposals to management and coordinate the project from beginning to end
•Be involved in the purchasing of new equipment to be able to give the process perspective
•Evaluate new technology and recommend equipment that will improve manufacturing processes and/or reduce costs
•Design and/or procure tooling and fixtures to support the manufacturing needs and processes
•Develop and maintain necessary tool and fixturing control procedures
•Work with the Production Managers to establish layout drawings for the most efficient manufacturing processes
•Be familiar with the shop capabilities and communicate to engineering so we are designing our equipment in a manner that can be most efficiently manufactured
•Establish and maintain an effective time study system
•Assisting the Quality Department with priority setting and problem solving
•Travel to other locations helping to gain efficiencies
•Other duties as assigned
Compensation
•The starting pay range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications
•Industrial Designer Degree or 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role focused on process improvement and technology evaluation
•Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
•Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex production issues
•Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams
•Familiarity with automation technologies and their application in manufacturing
