The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator drives Mosaic’s Indigenous engagement and reconciliation action plan in Saskatchewan. The role serves as Mosaic’s liaison and relationship builder with Indigenous rightsholders. Internally, the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will influence and support Mosaic’s policies, programs and communications to ensure representation, inclusion and Indigenous perspective.
Strategy Execution: Drive Mosaic’s Indigenous engagement and reconciliation action plan, including tracking and reporting progress. Own the action plan and keep the organization accountable for driving progress. Conduct regular and continuous engagement and communication with Indigenous rightsholders within Mosaic’s operating area in the Southeastern part of Saskatchewan.
Relationship & Internal Capacity Building: Serve as the conduit to Mosaic’s internal teams including procurement, recruitment, community investment and other relevant areas. Shape and influence Mosaic’s internal policies, programs, communications and events to ensure improved representation, inclusion and Indigenous perspective. Liaison with Mosaic’s Indigenous Engagement Employee Inclusion Network (EIN) to provide resources and alignment with overall company-engagement work. Serve as an internal resource for Indigenous employees and internal leaders.
Program Support: Provide guidance for the successful delivery of Mosaic’s Indigenous Potash Mining Intro and Mining the Future Student Term programs. Attend Indigenous cultural awareness training sessions and provide insights to drive continued learning including efforts to encourage self-identification via Mosaic’s culture and belonging work. Engage with external consultants to support programs and activities as needed.
External Events: Attend and represent Mosaic at Indigenous-led and focused events. Plan and coordinate engagement activities and events. Manage cultural protocols.
General Public Affairs support: Support events, projects, volunteer activities and other public affairs team activities as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree required, major in Indigenous Studies, Public Affairs, Human Resources, Communications or related field. - 5+ years of relevant work experience - 5+ years of experience in a professional related work setting; experience in Indigenous engagement and/or stakeholder relations preferred
- Understanding of Indigenous culture, protocol and ceremonial traditions
