Orefine is building next-generation materials recovery and purification capabilities in the United States. We are seeking an experienced ICP Technician to support our analytical laboratory in characterizing complex feedstocks and monitoring chemical processes used to recover high-value materials.
This is a hands-on technical position. You will work closely with scientists and engineers to generate accurate analytical data that supports process development, quality control, and scale-up activities. The work requires skill with challenging sample matrices, strong wet-chemistry fundamentals, and a commitment to data integrity in a high-growth environment.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation
- Prepare samples using wet-chemistry digestion methods, including HF, aqua regia, and fusion techniques
- Analyze high-matrix samples and process solutions
- Develop, refine, and validate analytical methods for routine and non-routine work
- Troubleshoot analytical issues related to matrix effects, instrument performance, or sample prep
- Provide rapid analytical feedback during process development and pilot operations
- Maintain clear laboratory documentation and support quality system development
- Follow strict safety protocols for handling reactive or corrosive materials
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
- 2+ years hands-on experience with ICP-OES or ICP-MS- Demonstrated experience preparing complex samples, including HF digestions
- Strong understanding of wet chemistry and matrix interferences
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, hands-on environment
- Experience analyzing precious metals, specialty metals, or industrial materials
- Familiarity with fusion, fire assay, or classical wet-chemistry techniques
- Background in mining, metallurgical, environmental, or process laboratories
- Strong troubleshooting and preventative-maintenance skills
- Experience working within a laboratory quality system and maintaining clear documentation

$60,000 – $85,000 per year (based on experience)
