Job Description - Hydrovac Operator

Badger Daylighting Calgary Inc. is currently seeking professional experienced Hydrovac Operator to join the largest Hydrovac fleet in Calgary.

Opportunities to operate other equipment such as vacuum trucks, combo vacs, semi vacs, water trucks, water trailers and stone slingers for backfill available.

This is a year-round opportunity to work 2,200-3,000 hours per year in close proximity to Calgary with some occasional short-term out of town work.

Requirements

•

Experience with hydrovac preferred and straight vac, combo vac, semi vacs, stone slinger experience is beneficial.

•

Previous utility, construction or oilfield experience is beneficial.

•

Positive attitude towards safety and willingness to learn.

•

Mechanical inclination an asset.

•

Must be able to work with a partner and fit into the team atmosphere.

•

Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus, being able to handle a wide array of customer requests on site, and interacting with many different personalities is key.

•

A class 3 or 1 driver’s license is required with driving experience, general knowledge of the area is mandatory.

•

Must be able to work safely and independently.

•

Safety tickets are not mandatory, but a great asset - First Aid/CPR, C.S.T.S., H2S, Fall Protection and Ground Disturbance.

•

Must be ok with flexible hours as start and end times vary day to day.

•

Must be available to work on weekend projects.

•

Willing to learn and being coachable is key.

•

Can listen to directions and follow procedures.

•

Be prepared for physically demanding outdoor work.

•

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.

•

Must live close to Calgary and be eligible to work in Canada.

•

Other duties as required ex) cleaning of shop, parts runs, yard maintenance.
