The Hydraulic Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hydraulic service and repair shop. This role includes supervising technicians, ensuring high-quality repairs, maintaining inventory, and enforcing safety protocols. The supervisor will also coordinate with service advisors and internal teams to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, train, and supervise shop technicians.
- Assign tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct technician performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and testing of hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, and motors.
- Share the estimate of the repair work with the service desk attendant to seek the customer's approval,
- Ensure that all repairs meet company and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to technicians.
- Coordinate parts required for repair with the warehouse and procurement team. Maintain adequate stock of parts and tools.
- Monitor equipment conditions and schedule maintenance as needed.
- Inform the service desk attendant of work completion and forward them the details to prepare the proforma invoice.
- Ensure the continued qualification and competency of hydraulic shop personnel, as per the QMS Competency and Awareness procedure.
- Yearly verify that each hydraulic shop technician has a complete set of tools in the working conditions and record this review as documented information.
- Coordinate calibration activities with procurement personnel.
- Ensure technicians tidy, organize and clean their work areas after every job.
- Ensure Ward's tools remain in working conditions, and technicians keep these tools clean and place them at their respective locations after completing the work.
- Generate reports on shop performance and productivity.
- 2-3 years of experience in leading a hydraulic/service shop having exposure to hydraulic fluid, heavy machinery, and tools.
- Requires lifting, standing for extended periods, and operating equipment.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities in guiding teams.
