HVAC Technician
Summary of Position
The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of refrigeration and HVAC systems across multiple facilities, including the oil and gas terminal facility and company housing. Key duties include performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, ensuring system efficiency, and adhering to safety protocols. The technician will also handle preventive maintenance and collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure smooth facility operations.
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent required
•Community college or trade school coursework is preferred
•At least two (2) years of relevant experience; OR certification of HVAC training or apprenticeship, required
•Must possess required local and state license(s)
•EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal) is required
•Thorough understanding of the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration systems.
•Ability to use diagnostic equipment.
•Experienced in performing regular maintenance, replacing parts, and ensuring equipment is free of leaks and defects.
•Knowledgeable in safety protocols and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, particularly regarding refrigerant handling and equipment operation.
•Capable of accurately documenting repairs and communicating technical issues and solutions effectively with team members and management.
•Skilled in identifying defects, leaks, and system malfunctions and implementing corrective actions.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Physical Requirements
•Work is generally in the field.
•Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, reaching, crouching, push/pull objects, etc.
•Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended period
•Ability to work outdoors in difficult conditions, including adverse weather conditions
•Ability to occasionally lift up-to 50 pounds, push and pull, reach overhead, operate hand tools, stoop and squat, wear breathing apparatus, enter confined spaces and utilize all necessary personal protective equipment.
