HV Commissioning Technician

We currently have job openings for ‘High Voltage Commissioning Technicians’ to join our team. Oberon Engineering Services is an established business in Europe that provides commissioning and service support to a wide range of clients. We have recently opened our US branch based in Houston, Texas and are looking to expand.

As a ‘HV Commissioning Technician’ your responsibilities will include the commissioning of Generators, Generator Protection Systems, Excitation Systems and Synchronizing Systems. This will involve electrical testing of the Generator, secondary injection testing of Generator Protection and Synchronizing systems using equipment such as Omicron 256/356.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Generators, Excitation systems and Protection Relay testing. All candidates must have good ability to read electrical drawings and understand control relay logic. An understanding of three phase electricity is essential. Experience with PLC’s is also advantageous. High Voltage training will be provided for candidates who do not have experience working with high voltage systems.

Any applicants must be willing to travel for periods of 4 to 6 weeks to various destinations within the US. Down time is provided in between assignments. Salary levels and benefits will be provided on application; based on qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a legal right to work within the US and be based within the US.

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
