We are seeking an experienced Industrial HVAC Commissioning Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-commissioning testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensuring optimal performance of HVAC systems within industrial buildings, specifically including LNG electrical buildings. This role requires attention to strong technical skills, and adherence to safety standards and best practices.
- Conduct pre-commissioning testing activities for HVAC systems in electrical and controls buildings, including system inspections, leak testing, equipment readiness assessments, and functional checks.
- Perform commissioning and start-up procedures for industrial HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with operational specifications and efficiency standards.
- Execute detailed technical testing and validation of HVAC, including chillers, air handlers, fans, pumps, blowers, environmental controls, and building automation systems.
- Perform technical start-up, commissioning, and testing by verifying control sequences, sensor calibration, airflow measurements, temperature controls, and electrical load testing.
- Conduct specialized testing and validation of refrigerant systems and associated equipment, including refrigerant leak detection, pressure testing, charge verification, and integrity inspections.
- Execute comprehensive testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems to achieve desired operational specifications.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve HVAC system performance issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Verify and document all commissioning activities, pre-commissioning tests, system adjustments, and results accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate effectively with project teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure successful HVAC system commissioning and project completion.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, company safety guidelines, particularly regarding refrigerants and environmental protocols.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to junior technicians or site personnel as required.
- Technical degree or certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- EPA Universal Certification OR TDLR Certification (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial HVAC commissioning or related service.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, boilers, air handling units, refrigerant systems, and building management systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and refrigerant control systems, including experience with commissioning controls and building automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and system layouts.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

- Capable of safely lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, access elevated locations, and work in varied environmental conditions typical of industrial facilities.
- You must be comfortable working at heights as necessary.
