We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team to support alignment of our HR practices with business goals. Please note that this position is based in Labrador West and the work schedule is Monday to Friday. This position is not eligible for Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangements.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Oversee and execute Human Resources programs by providing Human Resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health, and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, and labor relations
- Provides advice, support and coaching in the use of Human Resources systems (e.g remuneration/benefits, performance management)
- Partnering with and supporting leaders with annual activities as well as supporting the business achieve their employee resource strategies.
- Providing employee relations support in a professional and confidential manner
- Maintains Human Resources records in HRIS database along with confidential employee files.
- Complies with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Providing coaching and support to leaders and employees on HR processes, policies, procedures, and programs.
- Support recruitment and on boarding processes.
- Experience in conflict resolution
- Proven ability to mentor and coach, to foster growth and performance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Employee Relations experience
- Skilled in negotiation and mediation experience
- A bachelor degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3-5 years experience of HR Generalist experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge of Human Resources policies & laws
- Experience in a mining environment would be an asset
