The HSE Field Technician will be primarily responsible for assuring full compliance with the established HSE Safety Management System. In addition to those duties, this position will work closely with the HSE Tech Lead on the overall management of the district field safety performance of achieving an injury free work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
•Assure hazards are properly identified and controlled per established HSE framework (interface) via proactive engagement with site personnel and observation of worksite activities.
•Coach, mentor and intervene as required when opportunities for improvement are identified.
•Verify the Axis site-specific orientations for all personnel and visitors are appropriate for the operation being performed.
•Manage the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Log, including the accurate collection, daily review, and weekly submittal of KPI data.
•Facilitate Incident Management Process by executing the key responsibilities of Group Incident Investigation and Learning, including case management, KPA reporting, LFI drafts, HIPO Incident Investigation & SIR drafts.
•Facilitate the execution of the Axis Energy Local Audit Process by accurately completing the required audits per schedule, with audit results and corrective actions documented.
•Coach all crew members and assure the effective implementation of established daily requirements:
•Daily Start Up Inspections
•Permit to Work Procedures
•Proactively coach all Axis Staff with their understanding, execution, and assure effective implementation of Axis required programs including:
•Working at Heights/Fall protection
•Process Safety/Line of Fire
•Temporary Pipework Standard
•KPA usage and requirements
•Glove /Impact Glove Policy
•Alternative Cutting Tools
•Assure environmental compliance per the requirements of our Environmental Policy
•Facilitate implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (AEP) by assuring the site’s AEP plans are evergreen, regularly drilled and response capabilities are maintained.
•Champion the Behavior Based Safety Observation Program by conducting observations and coaching site leadership on location.
•Maintain individual competency per the requirements of the EHS Technician Roles and Responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
•Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety; or a combination of college education or technical training education
•6+ years of demonstrated HSE/DOT work experience, preferably in the oil field services industry.
•CSP, SMS, ASP or OSHA training, PEC/Safeland training certifications preferred.
•Experience in ISNetworld or other contractor safety management systems; learning management systems (LMS) and safety reporting programs such as iScout / KPA or similar.
•Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Bilingual in Spanish and English - is preferred.
