PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Collaborate with HSE and Operations Management to develop and execute the annual HSE plan aligned with corporate objectives, including facility-specific goals and HSE Management Reviews.
•Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, and other evaluations to ensure adherence to the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (HSEMS) and promote continuous improvement.
•Perform Process Audits, document nonconformance, and ensure internal standards and HSEMS are effectively implemented.
•Maintain accurate HSE records and ensure timely reporting according to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
•Provide expert guidance on applicable federal, state, and local regulations, assisting in the development and execution of corrective action plans.
•Prepare and present HSE progress reports as requested by management.
•Communicate consistently and collaboratively with plant management to address HSE incidents, observations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions promptly.
•Lead detailed incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending effective solutions through technical expertise.
•Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training, including New Hire Orientations and job/site-specific safety training.
•Lead and participate in safety inspections, reinforce safe behaviors, correct hazards immediately or report appropriately, and initiate Stop Work authority when necessary.
•Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental policies, programs, and procedures to achieve organizational goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
•Foster strong relationships with safety and environmental regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
•Engage closely with departmental managers and supervisors to promote training and development for a safe and healthy work environment.
•Ensure strict adherence to all plant-specific environmental permit conditions.
•Stay current on all relevant legislation and regulatory updates.
•Adhere to all company and HSE policies and procedures.
•Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Exposure to moving machinery and loud noises within production areas.
•Work is divided approximately 50% in an office environment and 50% on the production floor, based on operational needs.
•Exposure to variable weather conditions, including occasional hot or cold temperatures.
•Occasional travel (up to 15%) may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's Degree in HSE or related field preferred.
•Minimum 6 years of HSE experience required.
•Working knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 General Industry), EPA, DOT regulations, and relevant industry standards (NFPA, ASME, ANSI).
•Proficiency with JDE and Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is highly preferred.
•Excellent verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
•Certification as a First Aid, CPR, and AED trainer preferred.
•Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is beneficial.
•Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
•Fluent Bilingual Spanish is preferred
