The purpose of this role is to provide full administrative support to the HR department across the full range of HR processes. In addition, this position will be responsible for administering, coordinating, and managing day-to-day HR matters specializing in Benefits and Talent Acquisition for the TN Mines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES AND DUTIES OF JOB HOLDER Safety, Health & Environment:
- Comply with statutory/legislative requirements
- Ensure SHEC guidelines and procedures are included in plans, decision making, systems and processes
- Promote awareness and deliver work area targets to prevent harm
- Achieve or surpass safety objectives for your work area
- Ensure fitness for work compliance; liaise with Wellness Coordinator for interplay with FMLA/ADA/WC and assist with return to work
- Demonstrate and promote a high level of safety and environmental awareness amongst your colleagues
- Ensure compliance with all local/state/federal employment laws and company policies and procedures
- Maintain positive working relationship with employees and management team
- Provide timely processing of HR-related transactions to support payroll, benefits administration, and business needs
- Manage the entire FMLA process for designated segment of the business
- Knowledgeable about benefits and able to support open enrollment, benefits questions, etc.
- Ensure recruitment/selection for all positions is efficient to ensure appropriate staffing to support business needs
- Produce monthly HR-metric reports as required; other reports as required
- Maintain employee information and files, electronic version
- Facilitate site wide training sessions as required
- Operate as a partner with the business ensuring a presence out in the operations
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related discipline
- 3 years’ experience in HR or related role
Desirable:
Professional certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)

- Must have sound HR acumen, including discretion and diplomacy
- Knowledgeable and experience of relevant legal and regulatory standards
- Solid written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to maintain relationships with personnel at all levels
- Sound methods and approaches to persuade, convince or influence others
- Microsoft Office Software
The position will support the Nyrstar Tennessee Mines; and will be sit in the Recruitment location in the East Tennesse Office. Occasional travel to the Middle Tennessee Mine will be expected.
