THE ROLE:
The purpose of this job is to safely and efficiently advance capital and secondary development waste at the Nyrstar Tennessee Mine operation. The Miner 2 must be able to perform all mining tasks: drilling, blasting, bolting, scaling, mucking, map reading, drift online and grade, and advance utilities.
Rates start at $33.75:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Marking the face with the appropriate drill pattern
- Drilling holes parallel and on correct angles
- Cleaning, scratching, and marking holes
- Shovel lifters when the heading is complete
- Comply with MSHA & ATF explosives regulations and requirements
- Proper handling and loading of explosives
- Minimizing explosive waste
- Detonation of explosives (licensed blasters)
- Accurately complete blast report as per regulations
- Hand scaling
- Ensures all hoses and other auxiliary services are neatly stored
- Maintains hauling efficiency by managing working environment conditions
- Maintains proper housekeeping and tidiness
- Follows correct loading and dumping procedures
- Inspects and assesses site conditionsto determine scaling and bolting requirements
- Erects barricadesto prevent unauthorized access if necessary
- Wetting down headings for dust suppression
- Ensures services (air, water) are advanced
- Installs appropriate bolts and screen to specified pattern and spacing
- Step-Up Supervisor
- Demonstrates the ability to perform Supervisor duties
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of underground hard rock mining
- Rapid development experience desired
- Experience in mine specific equipment
- Excels in Jumbo and ground support activities
- Sound understanding of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities
- Blasting License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
