Job Title: Mine Geologist

Job Summary:

The Mine Geologist will assist the Ore Control Geologist and Chief Geologist in ore control determinations utilizing Mineplan software which integrates blasthole survey and assay data. The position will assist in maintaining the integrity of the blasthole database (survey and assay), will perform pit mapping and blast hole cuttings mapping, and assist in the generation of interpretive geologic maps.

Essential Functions:

- Utilizes Mineplan software to make day-to-day ore control determinations

- Utilize Mineplan software, along with basic to advanced statistical software tools, to evaluate a variety of data sets including blast hole and development drill hole assays

- Review/analyze actual mined production vs. resource model reconciliation for ore tons/grade and develop factors for updating mine planning projections in future mining areas and assisting with EOM reporting

- Perform pit mapping and generate timely interpretive geologic maps. This information to be utilized in support of Mine Operations (e.g. slope stability) and to be incorporated into the resource and production block models, as needed

- Assist with production duties as needed including ore control staking and production sampling

- Generate and execute infill drilling programs

- Analyze and maintain site QAQC practices and procedures

Mentor samplers to better execute sampling goals

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:

- Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:Undergraduate degree in Geology

- Minimum Experience Required: 2 - 5 years in mine operations environment

Attention to detail and reporting accuracy; collecting geologic data and developing interpretive maps; proficient with Microsoft suite of programs; experience with intermediate to advanced statistical analytical techniques; experience with mining software that includes 3D modeling and estimation methods as required for day to day near term mine planning.

The hourly pay range for this position is $43.26 - $55.09 based on experience.
